Memory Memory requirements for Office XP
depend upon the operating system used with the
computer. For Windows 98 and Windows Me, 24 MB
of RAM for the operating system, plus an
additional 4 MB of RAM for each application
running simultaneously (8 MB for Microsoft
Outlook, Access and FrontPage). For Windows
NT Workstation or Server 4.0 or later, 32 MB of
RAM for the operating system, plus an additional
4 MB of RAM for each application running
simultaneously (8 MB for Microsoft Outlook,
Access and FrontPage). For Windows 2000
Professional, 64 MB of RAM recommended minimum.
For Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server, 256
MB of RAM recommended minimum. In addition, you
should have 4 MB of RAM for each application
running simultaneously (8 MB for Microsoft
Outlook, Access and FrontPage). Usage of
speech recognition requires 128MB of RAM
minimum.
Hard disk Hard-disk space requirements
will range between 200 — 300 MB dependent upon
configuration with 115MB on the hard disk where
the operating system is installed. Users without
Windows 2000, Windows Me or Office 2000 SR1 will
require an extra 50 MB of hard-disk space for
the Office System Pack. Also, for localized
deployments, you should allow an extra 50 MB of
hard-disk space for each additional language
interface you
install
